Got a great comment from Maury Papier, my favorite local artist and USF Prof. He said that the painting was "quite romantic"...of course he was referring to the style...not the emotion.

But others have said, "what the heck is going on?"

Well, see, one of the characters in the book has died...this painting is a metaphor of her soul ascending to heaven.
